PERFORMANCE:

Tulipwood sawn wood is easy to machine, brush, turn and glue, and has good screwing performance, although pre-drilling is recommended. It tends to cracked when it's nailed. The Poplar (Tulipwood) is easy to dye and polish to a very satisfying finish. Wood is susceptible to moving put into service, in humid conditions.
Wood is not durable. The heartwood is moderately impregnable with protective treatments, while the sapwood is impregnable. In general, tulipwood is a good option to receive protective treatments with modern methods, including thermal modification, for which it is particularly suitable.

MAIN USES:

With excellent environmental credentials, it is a key species in many export markets. Its main uses are in furniture, doors, coverings, interior cabinetmaking, moldings and kitchen cabinets. It is also used for certain applications in the construction sector and for some specialized applications such as carving.
